Captain Carter Battled the Hydra Stomper
In the latest episode of What If, we witness an alternate reality where Captain Carter fights against Hydra Stomper, who is revealed to be the Winter Soldier responsible for numerous devastating attacks. Meanwhile, aged Bucky Barnes risks his life to rescue Steve from a shield jet piloted by Widow.
In a series of events, Peggy prevents Steve’s release and takes him and Natasha to a Scottish island for trials. A suit is the only thing keeping Steve alive, and we later learn that he was killed on an assignment in Argentina while he and Prime Bucky were raiding Hydra bases. Steve’s brainwashing is attributed to the Red Room, and Peggy wants to devise a plan to reverse it. After undergoing the un-brainwashing process, Steve volunteers to help locate the Red Room, which is found to be in Sokovia, situated in a KGB training camp.
Shift of Scene: A Camp where Melina Vostokoff and a group of Widows reveal to everyone that Steve is a double agent who has been attacking Agent Carter. Peggy manages to disrupt his programming and take down the Red Room.
In the thrilling ending of “What If” Season 2 Episode 5, Natasha came to Milena’s aid by launching her into the air space to save her from the Red Room. Meanwhile, Peggy was able to save Steve and locate his whereabouts before the episode cut to black.
